Indian Air Force and its operations
Indian Air Force is national military branch that primarily conducts aerial warfare of Indian Armed Forces. IAF was 1st approached to provide air support on 11 May 99. President of India holds the rank of Supreme Commander of IAF. Its mission expands beyond engagement with hostile forces, with IAF participating in UN peacekeeping missions. Some major operations include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus & Operation Poomalai.
